How to download and install

RapidTyping is available both in Setup and Portable versions. If you plan to work with RapidTyping only on your local PC, choose Setup version. But if you want to use it from your flash drive or any external device while on the go, Portable version is exactly what you need. In the classroom you can use both version at your choice.

Setup version

To download and install the Setup version of RapidTyping, perform the following:

  • Go to Download Page.
  • Click the Download RapidTyping button in Setup for Windows section and save the RapidTyping_Setup_5.exe file in any folder on your PC.
  • Wait until the download is complete, and then run the downloaded file.
  • On the Welcome screen, click Next.
  • Click I Agree to accept the License Agreement.
  • In the Choose Install Location window, choose the folder in which to install RapidTyping or use default destination folder. To install the program for use in a local network, you need to select the network folder, see Using in the classroom section for details.
  • Select Additional Tasks window. If you need a shortcut on your desktop for RapidTyping, check the "Create a Desktop icon" box. If you need a shortcut in the "All Programs" menu, check the "Create a Quick Launch icon" box. Then, click the Install button.
  • Once the installation is over, click Finish. To start the application, click the RapidTyping icon on your Desktop or in the "All Programs" menu.
Notes

Silent install mode is available for setup version. You can use the command line switchers:

  • /S for silent installation
  • /D= dir to specify the "output directory"

For example: RapidTyping_Setup_5.3.exe /S /D=C:\Program Files\RapidTyping

Portable version

To download and setup the Portable version of RapidTyping, perform the following:

  • Go to Download Page.
  • Click the Download RapidTyping USB button in Setup for Windows section and save the RapidTyping_Portable_5.x.zip archive in any folder on your PC or USB-stick.
  • Wait until the download is complete, and then unpack the downloaded file to USB-stick or into any other folder you have write-access to like "Desktop".
  • To start RapidTyping, double-click the RapidTyping.exe in the folder where you've just unpacked the downloaded ZIP.
