This manual describes the basic information and use of the RapidTyping 5.

How to download and install

RapidTyping is available both in Setup and Portable versions. If you plan to work with RapidTyping only on your local PC, choose Setup version. But if you want to use it from your flash drive or any external device while on the go, Portable version is exactly what you need.

Setup version

To download and install the Setup version of RapidTyping, perform the following:

Go to http://www.rapidtyping.com/downloads.html
Click the green Download Setup button and save the RapidTyping_Setup_5.exe file in any folder on your PC.
Wait until the download is complete, and then run the downloaded file.
On the Welcome screen, click Next.
Click I Agree to accept the License Agreement.
In the Choose Install Location window, choose the folder in which to install RapidTyping or use default destination folder, see Using in the classroom section for details.
On the Choose Start Menu Folder screen, enter a name for Start menu folder or use default name.
Select Additional Tasks window. If you need a shortcut on your desktop for RapidTyping, check the "Create a Desktop icon" box. If you need a shortcut in the "All Programs" menu, check the "Create a Quick Launch icon" box. Then, click the Install button.
Once the installation is over, click Finish. To start the application, click the RapidTyping icon on your Desktop or in the "All Programs" menu.

Portable version

To download and setup the Portable version of RapidTyping, perform the following:

Go to http://www.rapidtyping.com/downloads.html
Click the green Download Portable button and save the RapidTyping_Portable_5.zip archive in any folder on your PC or USB-stick.
Wait until the download is complete, and then unpack the downloaded file to USB-stick or into any other folder you have write-access to like "Desktop".
To start RapidTyping, double-click the RapidTyping.exe in the folder where you've just unpacked the downloaded ZIP.

When you run RapidTyping for the first time, you'll see the Configuration Wizard, which will help you to set the RapidTyping options, see How to Configure Settings in Wizard.
